2017

Collaboration by Carme Casas, architect.

Building constructed to show the dinosaur tracks of the Upper Cretaceous that exist in Fumanya (Berguedà). It is a transversal section trapezoidal building, with the cover to one side up to the paleontological mural, in almost vertical situation, where de footprints are found. The pavement, from the inside, leaning out onto the terrace, opening the views to the mural framed by two side walls blind. At the entrance, a large concrete canopy exempt from the main building, protects access. At night is the claim indicating light, by far, the building. Starting from the idea that the Center of Interpretation is constructed to refer phenomena that happened long before the existence of the human being and that is located in full nature, in an uninhabited place, where there is no other constructive experience that the masías, from the beginning, the project sought to achieve an expression that did not take as a reference the traditional constructions nor the stereotyped clichés of some contemporary designs.
